O rockeiro Iggy Pop, (James Newell Osterberg) nasceu em Muskegon -- Estadoa unidos em 21 de abril de 1947. Começou sua carreira nos anos 60, tocando bateria em uma banda da sua escola. Em 1969, surgia o The Stooges, com Ron Asheton na guitarra, Scott Asheton na bateria e Dave Alexander no baixo (substituído por James Williamson, guitarrista, enquanto Ron assumia o baixo), banda que liderou durante cinco anos. Ao fim da banda, Iggy Pop decidiu partir para carreira solo. Em 1977, em parceria com seu amigo David Bowie lançou seus dois primeiros álbums solo: The Idiot, e Lust For Life. O primeiro disco incluiu a música "China Girl", que mais tarde seria um sucesso de Bowie no álbum Let's Dance, de 1983. Em 1984, Bowie gravou outras duas músicas que haviam escrito juntos, "Tonight" e "Neighborhood Threat" para o álbum "Tonight, no mesmo ano Iggy participou da trilha sonora do filme "Repo Man"(br: A onda punk) com a música Repo Man. As Womb organizer and co-owner Rick Sinnett explains in the below video, the psychedelic art gallery he runs with The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne and Jake Harms had big plans for New Year's weekend. Acclaimed "thinking man's" poster artist Emek was scheduled to kick-off the festivities Friday night with his final Poster + Retrospective & Book Signing of 2011. New Year Freak Out festivities all weekend long were set to culminate with a NYE After Party featuring "electric symphonies until sunrise" by New Fumes and Stardeath and White Dwarfs in the wee first hours of 2012 - open to all of the 1500 fans at The Flaming Lips/ Plastic Ono Band concert. But as shown from 1:02 til the end of this video -- plans went awry when the Fire Marshall shut down space on Thursday, December 29.... But Wayne Coyne insists, "we can work it out"...
